If you're reading my views then I guess you might want to know a little bit about the person behind them, no? Well here goes...
I'm a thirty-something woman native to the north east of England but currently living and working on the south coast. I live with my husband, my dog and and a bearded dragon called Genghis. I have two law degrees, a professional qualification and I'm a senior manager in something or other. I won't tell you who my employer is so please don't ask.I don't have any children and nor do I intend to have any.
I did not have a religious upbringing and remain a committed atheist and firm believer in evolution, dinosaurs, Higgs Bosun, vaccines and all things science. That doesn't mean I know nothing about religion though.
I have no particular political affiliation, preference or bias. I don't like any of them. I'm not a huge fan of some aspects of the EU but I can see the benefit of others. I am not a fan of American politics and you'll find little comment about it on this blog.
I drive a tiny little eco-friendly car and a large 20yr old Land Rover, although not at the same time. I also ride a motorbike on occasion. I am an apprentice petrol head and do most of my own car maintenance (with help from Hubby).
I believe in the strict gun control laws in the UK but not the total outlawing of all firearms. I believe in pest control and humane dispatch. I do not believe in fox hunting with hounds but I don't have a problem with drag hunts, paper chases and such like. I do not agree with the hunt saboteur movement as it currently operates. I am a vegetarian, and have been for most of my life, because I do not like the smell, taste or texture of meat and for no other reason. However, I would refuse to eat Halal meat even if I were a carnivore. I am 100% pro choice.
I am opinionated but I have an open and enquiring mind, even if I do swear a lot and rely heavily on sarcasm! I hope you will take this blog in the way it's intended - as one person's view on the world she lives in without any specific agenda or bias.
